We went there on a rainy afternoon with colleagues for lunch. The place is nice and cosy, bustling with office lunch-goers. However, it is one of those places that does not understand vegetarian crowd. Not many options for vegetarians. We pretty much ordered the only 2 options available for main course. Not going back there again.

Shahi maharani is Indian Michelin star restaurant. The ambiance and food is nice but like every other fine dining place you are spending extra dollars for the brand name. There are similar (if not better) restaurants that provide the same kind of food, but Shahi Maharani has its fan base. Just like other fine dine restaurants, the starter portions are outrageously small to share in a big group and soon before you realize it would have burnt your pocket.

This was a long pending restaurant in my list of restaurants to try. It was worth the wait. 
This place is a heaven for vegetarians as they are spoiled with options. 

As we worked through the menu, we ended up ordering a lot of starters/small bites that we were full and did not get to the main courses at all. I will have to go there a couple of more times to some more vegetarian options on offer.

Although the food is good here, the ambiance is not something to write home about. We went there on a Saturday and the place was crowded, noisy and stuffy. There are quite a lot of restaurants in Dempsey that have a better ambiance.

This is my go-to place for some oriental comfort food. I have frequented this place multiple times now and not a single time has it been disappointing.
Each time I go, I discover something new to eat. I cannot pick just a few favorites from this place. Just go order something on the menu and it will be good.

The place also offers western cuisine on its menu. I haven't tried anything western and probably would not. I like the oriental and local dishes on offer.

If you are a fan of Kerala(a southern state in India) cuisine, you will like this place. 
The presentation/dishes used gives a traditional feel and looks good.

We ordered the below for main course, but too busy eating that I forgot to capture photos:

• Mango Mapas (green mango curry)
• Avial
• Appam

Of all the above, the mango curry is not something that I am going to order again.

It is fun for kids!
They have multiple pancake bases - Whole grain, Pandan, Chocolate, Zucchini and Buttermilk.
We are spoiled for choices for toppings with both savory and sweet things on offer.

Our pick was butter milk with chocolate chip filling, whipped cream and maple syrup.

Location is the best thing about this place. Also, they have quite a good range of vegetarian food and allow for customization when requested. The price is well balanced too and not too hefty like Italian food can get. Overall a decent place for lunch with work friends or after work dinner/drinks.
